I am a Research Assistant Professor at the Department of the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine , a Member at the Penn Neurodegeneration Genomics Center (PNGC) , Penn Institute for Biomedical Informatics (IBI), and an Associate Member at the Institute for Translational Medicine and Therapeutics (ITMAT) at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania.

I develop machine learning and data mining algorithms to study functional human small non-coding RNAs. One theme of my work is to use high-throughput genomics and proteomics technologies to identify and develop better circulating biomarkers for Alzheimer's Disease. The other theme is to use small RNA-sequencing to better understand the biological properties and expression of small non-coding RNAs across human tissues. Ultimately I am interested in integrating big data in genomics to better understand the role of small non-coding RNAs in brain, and translating these findings for the development of better therapeutics in neurodegenerative diseases.
